Most kitchens now have a microwave. They save time, cook a variety of different recipes and save on energy. The convection microwave has the addition of a heating element and a fan which allows for the browning and crisping that you find in a regular oven. Basically using this technology means that you can bake and roast food which would have cooked too quickly in a regular microwave.

So if you only need to cook relatively small meals, the convection microwave is a great alternative, however they are more expensive than a regular microwave oven.

All microwave ovens need to have adequate ventilation around them and be kept clean to ensure food safety.
